24th ASRF Street Rod Nationals – Maryborough
The 24th ASRF Street Rod Nationals were held at Maryborough, Queensland.
Rod Squad was well represented at this very successful event. Over 800 hot rods and classic cars form every state in Australia gathered over the Easter weekend creating a spectacle for this regional city.
Here is a little of what could be seen over the weekend.
Locals were keen to get a look at the cars and came in droves
Congratulations to Teddy on being awarded a ‘Top 20’ trophie for his classy ’34 Buick Victoria
On Sunday, Rod Squad hosted a special ‘Resurrection Day’ Church service in the big open Equestrian pavilion where people met to remember and celebrate the events of that first Easter, when Jesus Christ took the punishment we all deserve by giving His life for us on the cross, but rising again from the dead so that we may live eternally. We were welcomed and joined by Chris Foley – past local MP, now paster of Grace Community Church in Maryborough – who also played bass guitar for us.
After the service, Rod Squad members offered free Hot Cross buns to all walking past our tent.
On Sunday evening, Chris invited us to his service at ‘The Powerhouse’ – Grace Community Church
Thanks to the local ASRF committee who did a fantastic job staging this great event.
