Goin Country 2015
The event began at Queens Park, Ipswich for registration, then off to Fernvale for a brief car display for the community in the main street of Fernvale. Billy tea and damper were waiting for us when we arrived at the community hall, and soon it was into the action with Hot Wheels racing, cross-cut sawing, axe throwing and this year we had a display and talk about some of our Aussie reptiles – crocodile, turtle, snakes and more!
All this while the poor old pig was rotating on the spit and smelling wonderful. Coffee was on tap from the Coffee Pickup – one free for every entrant, and as the sun was going down, it was time to tuck into some of that delicious spit roast pig and beef with vegies and of course, lovely desserts.
There were some great prizes and trophies awarded for various categories of vehicle entries and winners of the bush activities. We would like to thank our sponsors for these – Oz Rods, Meguiars/Liqui Moly, Autobarn, Trophies R Us and Cruzin magazine.
Then it was time to hit the road after a prayer of thanks to God for His awesome goodness to us.
